Sharvari Gadegaonkar, a postdoctoral researcher at CNRS, LOMIC, focuses on deciphering nitrogen-transforming processes in the Southern Ocean and understanding the impact of trace metals on these processes. Dr. Gadegaonkar works with metagenomes obtained from the SWINGS (South West Indian GEOTRACES Section) cruise, using omic tools. As part of the AWESOME-SWINGS project (A Water mass analysis and Exploration of linkS between marine Organisms and trace Metals), she studies the influence of trace metals on prokaryotic communities within different water masses, including both free-living and particle-attached fractions.
