I am a biological oceanographer with a particular interest in bio-optics and phytoplankton physiology. I like to use satellite data and Biogeochemical Argo floats to study how phytoplankton growth is regulated by the availability of nutrients and light through the water column. My PhD, which I did in Hobart, Australia, was on Southern Ocean biogeochemistry, now I focus on the North Atlantic. Currently, as a postdoc, I aim to develop tools to assess changes in primary production and carbon export on larger spatio-temporal scales. These tools will help in the Measurement, Reporting and Verification of Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal practices.
